Tuesday, 3 Jan 2017

Well, it is a new year.  So far so good after 2 1/2 days.  We are working with the YSA and others for the first part of the week (Mon-Wed) and then will take Thursday, Friday, Saturday off to celebrate our anniversary (5 Jan).

Today Margaret worked with one of the Elders from one of the Asian countries on their pronunciation of the sacrament prayers. He had a bit of trouble this past Sunday, so she is focusing on that for a bit so he will be better enabled to say the prayers in English.  Boy are we glad that we do not have to learn another language at our age - IT IS HARD.  English is not an easy language to learn with all of its rules and even MORE exceptions.

This week will be somewhat slow since we are only working 3 days, but we will get back into the full swing of things next week.

Summer is here and you can tell that by the temperature.  Late last week it approached 100 F and has cooled down to the low 70's for a few days here in the Hyde Park area.

We have not heard anything new on our request for an extension, but we are sure that the holidays have slowed things down significantly.  Hopefully we will hear something before the end of January.

We have some new missionaries in from this transfer session that will need some help with their English.  That is good for us, as it helps keep us busy - as if we needed any help.

It is a bit slow all over Sydney during the Christmas holiday and the month of January. We will enjoy the "slack" time and get rested up for when the fire hose is open up full blast.

Again, Happy New Year and may you enjoy the blessings that the Lord has in store for you.

Elder & Sister Haley
