Sunday, 3 June 2018

Mon, 28 May - Early morning seminary.  It is assessment review time, as next week will be the mid-year assessment (test) for seminary.  It is declutter Monday and sister Haley is off helping declutter.  Elder Haley came back to the flat and vacuumed, updated the blog, tried to take a nap and did other chores around the flat.

Tue, 29 May - Early morning seminary - my it is dark at 0500.  We called and talked with our grandson Isaac, and his parents - Brea & Don.  We wrote an email to the Brisbane temple following up on a special sealing for Sister Kerry Arthur on 16 July.  Sister Arthur is super sensitive to lights, electromagnetic fields, wifi, etc.  So we are going to the Brisbane temple on a Monday when missionaries are attending, so the people traffic is low; hence, the temple lights, etc can be kept to a minimum.  Brisbane temple President Cowan is doing all he can to help Kerry do her sealing to parents.  We drove out to visit with Barry Ward (just past Halfway Creek on Dundoo Reach) and had lunch with him and his dogs, Honey & Midnight. Then back to Grafton for grocery shopping and baking choc chip cookies.

Wed, 30 May - Early morning seminary - it is still dark at 0500 😣  We then went on a hunt for a spring to fix the LaZBoy chair of one of the sisters - we came close enough to fix the chair. Then we played taxi for another sister.  Back to the Branch meetinghouse for Primary activity & Faith in God, where we gave up 1/2 of the choc chip cookies.  A quick dash home for dinner and then back to the meetinghouse for Family History Centre (Margaret) and YW (Mike).  The YW went bowling at the 10 pin alley just down the street from the meetinghouse. The girls had a good time.  Then back to the meetinghouse for ice cream and choc chips.

Thu, 31 May - Mike was able to get his body out of bed and go for a walk & weights this morning - the first time in weeks.  He survived.  We then picked up one of the sisters and got her to a Dr appointment.  We dropped Elder Haley off at the meetinghouse at 10 am so he could do some chores and help a bit with FHC.  Sister Haley took one of the sisters to Coffs (1 hour south of Grafton) for a Dr appointment.  While there the sister was told to go to Hospital for some tests in the ER.  She & Sister Haley are still there and it is 10 pm.  Hopefully they will be released soon and come back to Grafton.  Elder Haley did laundry, cleaned the bathroom. took a nap, worked on the blog, had dinner, read the scriptures - trying to stay awake until Sister Haley gets back home safely. Finally at 12:30 am, Sister Haley got home - a long day in the emergency room with the Grafton sister.

Fri, 1 Jun -  Mike got up a bit early this morning to have a short call with the Cocoa Metro CPA; however, it was postponed until tomorrow. So Mike decided to do his walk & weights. Then back into the Missionary mode.  We picked up Spencer Norman from primary school since his mum, Beth, was having contractions and was going to hospital.  Bummer - False alarm, but we did get to spend some time with Spencer before we had to give him up to his dad, President Norman.  We had Scott Howard over for dinner - nothing special, just a pasta dish with bolognese sauce and veggies.  Then a long discussion with Scott on the world; however, we did not solve any big (or small for that matter) issues.

Sat, 2 Jun - Since we were not going Platypus searching, the day became a visit day.  We stopped by and visited with Tia To'ia, the new mother in the branch.  Then off to Junction Hill to visit Maureen Gollam - one of our neighbors when we lived at 2 Acacia. Home for lunch, then back out visiting.  We saw Margaret Leach and offered her a ride to visit her mum in the Aged Care facility.  Had a good visit with both and then to South Grafton to visit one of the other sisters in the branch. Back home, Sister Haley worked on the family history worksheet for Kerry Arthur so we had the proper information to send to the temple prior to Kerry being sealed to her parents. We will be talking Kerry to the Brisbane Temple on Monday, 16 June, where they are making special arrangements for her due to her super sensitivity to lights, wifi & magnetic fields.

Sun, 3 Jun - Fast Sunday.  We had a good fast & testimony meeting.  One of the counselors in the Brisbane temple presidency & his wife attended (the Hills) and shared their testimonies, as well.  After the Church meetings, Sister Haley met with the RS presidency for some planning and Elder Haley worked on tithing and other admin things.  Then home to break our fast with left overs - some of the pasta/bolognese made for Friday dinner with Scott.

The ball in the air - cannot remember if the ball is going up or coming down

The ball coming down

One of the activities for the older kids during Primary Faith in God activity. They are putting the whole armor of God on one of their team mates.

It looks like the girls are doing a better job of making the armor.

Are we having fun or what - Leah, Pearl, Marama

Manahi letting Sister Haley put the armor on him, complete with funny face

The YW bowling team - Shellie, Arielle, Willow with coach President Norman

It looks like the girl's bowling is doing well, or so President Norman thinks.
